About Us

   Tripple M Oil Tool, Inc. began business in 1957 as a magnetic fishing tool company. After about four years or so, an agreement was reached to sell the magnets to Bowen Tools. During the 1960’s Tripple M Oil Tool operated as a supply company, buying and selling oilfield rubber products and shortly thereafter began purchasing rubber molds with the molding process performed in Houston.

In the early 1970’s with the business expanding, a decision was made to purchase a machine shop in order to build rubber molds “in house”.  Work also began on developing proprietary rubber formulas during this time period. Throughout the remainder of the 1970’s and early 1980’s product line expansion and mold additions made Tripple M Oil Tool more competitive in the market place. With this expansion, the logistic concerns of having the process of rubber molding performed by a third party in Houston were becoming burdensome. In 1978 a rubber molding plant was constructed and all rubber molding was moved to our present facility in Odessa, TX.

In 1990 Tripple M Oil Tool, at our customers request, began manufacturing production size double and triple cavity BOP’s also we began to perform repair work on used BOP’s and manufacturing of BOP replacement parts was initiated. Work was also in process during this time to learn about and acquire an API 16A license specifically for building blowout preventers. In 1995 we were successful in this endeavor, also successfully meeting the requirements of API 6A and ISO 9001 as well. We continued to manufacture BOP’s and retained our API licenses and ISO registration until 2001. At that time the decision was made to discontinue manufacturing complete BOP units and we voluntarily discontinued our license agreement with API and our registration with ISO. We continue to operate under a quality system, maintaining product traceability and utilize documented quality control requirements on our products. We continue to manufacture BOP parts and rubber products for BOP’s as well as our entire product line under these requirements. We understand what it really means to be able to produce a quality part.

Since 2001 Tripple M Oil Tool has undergone a considerable transformation. We believe this has positioned our company to be a strong competitor in today’s market place. We have purchased new state of the art equipment, acquired, expanded and built new buildings, added more employees and have increased business considerably. Our business has continued to grow even during the slow times.
   A quick glance at our customer base reveals a few recognizable names such as Weatherford, Schlumberger, Smith International, Baker, National-Oilwell, Hydril, Cameron, Wood Group and hundreds of others all of which are very much valued and appreciated by the staff of Tripple M Oil Tool. Customer Service and Product Quality are the main focus everyday at Tripple M Oil Tool. As a result we look to the future with continued quality improvement implementation by continued procurement of additional equipment and employees as well as plans to once again become licensed by API for the manufacture of Ram Blocks, Ram Packers and Top Seals under API Specification 16A.
